North Island Focus

12 Days              New Zealand:      Auckland to Wellington

On this New Zealand adventure overland tour, we leave Auckland behind us and drive up the Coast to stop at Paihia, our Bay of Islands base for the next couple of days. Enjoy a boat tour out to the 'Hole in the Rock' and take a day tour to Cape Reinga and 90 Mile Beach. We then drive south down the West Coast past the golden sands of the Hokianga to experience the magnificent upper reaches of the Kaipara Harbour. We continue driving south to Rotorua via Karangahake Gorge.  After traveling on one of the last true back country highways, we arrive at Lake Waikaremoana. Next on our journey is Hawkes Bay - and a winery tour on bikes is the perfect introduction to New Zealand's fine wines. From here we travel via the Wairarapa and Cape Palliser to New Zealand’s capital, Wellington where this fabulous journey will end.
