Leaving Christchurch we take in the sights of the Southern Alps and Mount Cook from Lakes Tekapo and Pukaki. Continuing south, we travel into the remote farming community of Mackenzie Country driving towards Dunedin. We now head to Milford Sound and pass Lake Te Anau. Queenstown is our next stop and is the place for bungee, skydiving, white water rafting, river sledging etc etc. We then take time out at Fox and Franz Glaciers; you have the chance to walk on this mass of moving blue ice or take a scenic flight over them. Driving up the rugged West Coast we take in Pancake Rocks before reaching Abel Tasman National Park, which you can explore by foot, boat or kayak. We cross over the Cook Straight by ferry to New Zealand’s capital, Wellington and then head North West to drive around the base of the dormant volcano Mount Taranaki in the centre of Mount Egmont National Park. Onto New Plymouth and north into the lush farming region of Waikato, where we go underground in some of Waitomo’s 45 km network of limestone caves. Raglan is known to be the home of one of New Zealand’s best surfing breaks, but you can also just relax on the black sand beach. From here we travel to Auckland.
