Departing New Zealand's capital city, Wellington, we make our way north along the coastal 'Surf Highway', we travel around the base of the majestic dormant volcano Mt Taranaki. We take in some of New Zealand's most rugged surf breaks before reaching New Plymouth, a city dwarfed by towering Mt Taranaki. Take time out to explore Egmont National Park, walk the Coastal Walkway or see Sugar Loaf Islands. Continuining north we cross the Waikato, a lush farming region and home to New Zealand's largest river, the Waikato. We go underground at Waitomo to have our day brightened by some of the thousands of glow worms that live in the 45km cave and grotto network. Here you will have the opportunity to try abseiling or black water rafting, an adventure sport unique to New Zealand. Onto rustic Raglan - our last stop on this tour. Raglan is the Waikato's only seaside resort and is popular for water sports. You can try your hand at surfing or simply enjoy the black sand beach. We then arrive in Auckland where your tour comes to an end.
